Christian woman in America are living in an interesting time. Gender roles are being questioned more than ever, and cultural expectations can create confusing dilemmas. How can grow in confidence and assertiveness while still embracing the cruciform life that Jesus modeled for us? How can we honor the men in our lives while also honoring the pull Jesus has on us? We often find ourselves in painful situations that cause us to wrestle with our identities, as women and as Christ followers.
In this retreat, we will meditate on the stories of some of the women who most impressed Jesus in the Bible. We will stretch ourselves, spending extended time sitting at His feet, allowing our love for him to grow, while also discerning where Jesus is delighting in us and where he is inviting us to be take some risks. Art exploration options will be available for those interested.
This retreat is open to all women who are pursuing closeness with Jesus, whether young or old, whether married or not, whether egalitarian, complementarian, or have no idea what any of that means. Bring your pain. Bring your joy. Bring your questions. Bring a friend.
